Job summary

NC Community Colleges is seeking a qualified Counselor to provide comprehensive academic, career, and personal counseling and case management services to current and prospective students. You assess needs, identify barriers, and connect students with College and community resources using a student-centered approach and data-driven insights.

You will develop student support plans, coordinate referrals, monitor progress, document interventions, and conduct timely follow-up to promote success,

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Counseling with one to three years of counseling experience.
• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Counseling with three to five years of experience in career counseling.
• Bilingual; Career Readiness Certificate (CRC).

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive academic, career, and personal counseling and case management services to current and prospective students.
• Assist with student support by identifying barriers to success and connecting students with College and community resources.
• Use predictive analytics and student progress data to identify at-risk students and provide proactive support.
• Develop individualized student support plans and coordinate referrals and services; monitor progress and follow up.
• Maintain confidentiality per FERPA and collaborate with faculty and staff to coordinate student support across the College.
