Job summary

Career Team is seeking a Training and Follow-Up Specialist to connect program participants with education and training opportunities and provide professional follow-up services to individuals previously served by the Deep East Texas Workforce Development Area.

On the training side, this role develops training-provider partnerships, guides participants through training options and eligibility, and supports ITA compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of the WIOA, TANF, and SNAP programs and follow-up/retention requirements
• Knowledge of community resources
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-thought-out decisions
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Suite, and the ability to learn specialized databases and software systems
• Ability to establish and maintain positive, productive relationships with participants, training providers, and employers, including virtual relationships with former customers
• Ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse customer base and be culturally sensitive
• Ability to serve as a role model to customers and motivate them toward achieving goals
• Strong organizational and time management skills to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a performance-oriented environment
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team
• Adherence to the principles of Extreme Customer Service in all interactions with internal and external customers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Training Coordination: liaison with training providers, educate participants on training advantages, maintain ETPL information, conduct information sessions, assess market needs, assist ITA packets, and provide program reports
• Follow-Up Services: perform follow-up with former participants, support job search plans, engage customers at risk of job loss, provide referrals, document status in state system
• General: maintain documentation, track progress, meet targets, complete reports, participate in staff events, and uphold Extreme Customer Service
