Job summary

FCWDC seeks a qualified career services counselor to provide interviewing, assessment, referral, and job-matching services to a diverse client base. You will evaluate skills, guide vocational objectives, and interact with the public in a trusted role within a Workforce Development setting.

You will conduct one-on-one interviews, document outcomes in the state system, and assist with resume writing, interview coaching, and career planning to promote employment readiness and independence.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently, plan, organize, and coordinate assignments.
• Experience in case management and building positive customer relationships.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and related applications.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate jobseekers to identify employment goals and create a career pathway with services and referrals.
• Proctor assessments to determine eligibility for WIOA ITA and document results in the state system.
• Conduct follow-ups and maintain records in Florida's Work Registration database.
• Determine and calculate customer eligibility for WIOA ITA.
• Maintain client case files and databases per audit standards.
• Provide counseling on job search, resumes, interviews, and career planning.
