Job summary

First Coast Workforce Development Consortium is seeking a dedicated career development specialist to interview, assess, and refer jobseekers to appropriate services. You will help create individualized pathways and coordinate with community resources.

You will conduct assessments, enter data into state systems, and support customers with resume writing, interview skills, and job readiness guidance. This role involves front-desk interactions and ongoing follow-up with participants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Two years of experience in career development or related field required.
• Professional or nonprofessional experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the preferred college education.
• Florida Workforce Professional Tier 1 mandatory within one year (12 months) of hire.
• Annual continuing education (15 hours) to maintain Workforce Professional Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate jobseekers to identify employment goals and create a career pathway and service plan.
• Proctors’ formal assessments to evaluate jobseekers’ interest, aptitude, and ability.
• Enter customer information and services into Florida’s Work Registration database and audit reports.
• Provide employment opportunity information, resume critique, and interview skills coaching.
• Front desk duties: greet customers, verify ID, and orient customers to the One Stop System.
