Job summary

Association of Village Council Presidents seeks a Workforce & Benefits Navigator to help Tribal members access AVCP benefits and workforce development services, and to assist with TANF, 477, and GA programs. The role entails data collection, reporting, and coordinating with Bethel-based staff to move clients toward self-sufficiency.

Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills and data handling ability.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Bilingual Yup’ik/English preferred.
  • High level administrative skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Work one on one with TANF, 477 and GA clients and their families to develop Family Self Sufficiency Plans.
  • Assist clients with achieving GED skill levels and exploring training or scholarships.
  • Complete Monthly Activity Data (MAD) reports with client information and status changes.
  • Coordinate with Benefits Technicians to ensure TANF eligibility status is current.
  • Conduct 6-month and yearly reviews of case management progress and eligibility.
  • Enter data into Ritetrack or share via Teams to the supervisor in Bethel.
  • Help new clients navigate available benefit services.
  • Assist Bethel eligibility technicians with client interviews and document gathering.
  • Notify clients of education, employment, and training opportunities as they arise.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Workforce Development Office; maintain organized office environment.
