Job summary

Goodwill-of-the-Southern-Alleghenies is seeking a Career Facilitator to provide and coordinate individualized vocational services, community outreach, and employment support for individuals facing barriers. You will work to connect job seekers with employers and educational resources through the public workforce system.

The role emphasizes building rapport, conducting assessments, crafting individualized plans, and collaborating with community partners to expand opportunities in Pennsylvania.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 5 years relevant experience, or an associate degree with 3 years relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in human services, workforce development, education, business, or related field.
• Combination of work experience, training, or certifications may substitute for a formal degree.
• Experience in vocational services, workforce development, career coaching, job placement, or outreach to support individuals facing employment barriers.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized service plans to help participants identify strengths, overcome barriers, and achieve employment or educational goals.
• Conduct assessments using strengths-based case management practices.
• Provide individualized career guidance, career assessments, and employment planning.
• Assist job seekers with resume writing, interview preparation, and job applications, helping them build a professional career portfolio.
• Deliver job readiness training, financial literacy education, and career workshops in both one-on-one and group settings.
• Support job seekers in overcoming employment barriers and developing essential workplace skills.
• Connect participants to wraparound services, including housing assistance, financial literacy, and mental health resources.
• Facilitate job development by engaging employers, identifying opportunities, and presenting employer incentives.
