Job summary

NC Community Colleges seeks a Career Pathways Specialist to develop and coordinate pathways that prepare adult education students for postsecondary education, workforce training, industry credentials, and employment. This role partners with employers and colleges to improve student transitions.

The specialist guides students from enrollment through career attainment, connects instruction with workforce opportunities, and supports statewide workforce outcomes through collaboration and data-driven

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, business, counseling, or related field.
• Experience in adult education, workforce development, career services, or higher education.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to establish partnerships with employers, community organizations, and educational institutions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning, implementation, and evaluation of career pathways within College & Career Readiness.
• Develop and maintain career pathway maps aligned with local workforce needs.
• Coordinate Integrated Education and Training (IET) programs with alignment of education and training.
• Collaborate with faculty and college departments to expand career pathways and student transitions.
• Identify new career pathway opportunities based on labor market demand and employer feedback.
• Teach courses that support career readiness and workforce preparation as needed.
• Recruit adult education students into College & Career Readiness pathways.
• Assist with admissions, registration, financial aid referrals, and navigation of college resources.
• Track student enrollment, persistence, credential attainment, and employment outcomes.
