Job summary

Waubonsee Community College seeks an Adult and Workforce Education Career Pathways Advisor at the Aurora Downtown Campus. This full-time, hybrid role focuses on individualized advising, career planning, and connecting students with resources to advance education and employment goals.

You will develop education plans, coordinate services, and foster employer partnerships while meeting grant requirements and performance measures. Evening hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred.
• Experience in case management, advising, workforce development, adult education, or social services.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized advising and intensive case management to adult education and WIOA Youth participants.
• Develop and update individualized education and career plans.
• Assess student strengths and barriers and connect to resources.
• Coordinate supportive services to promote persistence and transitions.
• Maintain regular contact and provide ongoing coaching.
• Deliver career development services (resume prep, interview coaching, job search strategies, financial literacy).
• Plan and facilitate workshops on college success and workforce readiness.
• Develop partnerships with employers and workforce agencies.
• Connect students with career services and training opportunities.
• Determine participant eligibility and complete enrollment activities for grant-funded programs.
• Maintain records and documentation in IWDS and other systems.
• Track outcomes and prepare performance reports for funders.
• Collaborate with faculty and partners to coordinate support services.
• Assist with recruitment, orientation, and retention for Adult and Workforce Education programs.
• Participate in meetings and community outreach.
• Promote an inclusive environment for diverse learners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
