Job summary

SERCO is seeking a Career Coach at the Detroit At Work Career Center to assess customers’ career readiness and provide coaching services. You will interview clients, develop individual Career Plans, and guide them toward training and employment opportunities in Detroit, MI.

Responsibilities include conducting assessments, maintaining records, making referrals, and collaborating with Talent Sourcing to ensure positive outcomes. A valid Michigan driver’s license and flexible schedule are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in career planning, placement or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of education, training and community resources and career coaching principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively and assess customer needs; assist with case management.

Responsibilities

• Interview customers to assess service needs and barriers.
• Develop a Career Plan with customers identifying goals and placement strategy.
• Assess career readiness and refer to training/workshops as needed.
• Administer career readiness assessments and document progress.
• Maintain MIS reports and client files with program activities.
• Connect customers to job placement services and follow up for outcomes.
• Attend meetings and conduct home visits as required.
