Job summary

LSU New Orleans is seeking a Career Development specialist to connect employers with students for off-campus jobs, internships, and cooperative education opportunities at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

You will advise on resume writing, interview skills, and job search strategies, plan on-campus recruitment, and support alumni with career guidance. Collaboration with Career Services and faculty is essential to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• One year of work experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, and excellent public relations skills.
• Experience with creative workshop presentations.
• Experience with information technology database management.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with new employers to locate and develop off campus jobs / internships for students.
• Advise undergraduate and graduate students regarding internships, co-ops, part-time jobs, and volunteer opportunities.
• Collaborate with Career Services, faculty/staff, and employers to facilitate student job searches.
• Assist students with resume writing, interview skills-building, and other job search strategies.
• Plan and organize on-campus recruitment and job fair activities; publish promotional materials.
• Teach experiential employment workshops and related programs.
• Maintain a database of employers and job listings.
• Provide quarterly progress reports to supervisor.
• Maintain Career Services website and manage departmental marketing and social media.
