Job summary

Great Southern Wood Preserving in Lake Panasoffkee, FL is seeking a motivated forklift operator with warehouse experience. You will drive an industrial forklift, unload and load lumber, and help maintain organized stacks and safe operations.

The role requires reading and following instructions, communicating with supervisors, and being dependable. High school diploma or GED preferred and lumber experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have forklift experience.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret written information.
• Effective communication with supervisor and coworkers.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Lumber experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Unloads and stacks material on and off a commercial flatbed trailer using an industrial forklift.
• Operate a scan gun used to track inventory movements.
• Keeps material stacked evenly, safely, and in an organized manner.
• Be able to identify all different sizes and treatments of lumber that is manufactured at the plant.
• Responds promptly to customer and plant needs through the safe and efficient loading and unloading of trucks.
• Maintains organization of product in all warehouses.
• Assists in housekeeping and clean-up activities as needed.
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; meets productivity standards; completes work promptly.
• Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.
• Reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
• Is consistently at work and on time. Uses time efficiently.
