Job summary

Tallahassee State College is seeking a Career Development Specialist – P05611 with DOC at Lowell Correctional Institution for a full-time, grant-funded role. You will support Compass 100 Hybrid and in-cell assignments, delivering the 100-Hour Transition Skills Program and other Department programs to eligible participants under guidance from the Lead Educator.

Key duties include assessments, documentation, monthly reporting on attendance and enrollments, and coordinating pre-release connections

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or high school diploma and two years of professional experience in workforce development, social services or corrections.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Administration and interpretation of assessments.
• Delivery of the 100-Hour Transition Skills Program curriculum.
• Delivery of other programs as determined by the Department.
• Maintaining and providing documentation of services delivered.
• Reporting monthly attendance, program enrollments, and completions on the Department’s approved form, DC5-149 “Correctional Daily Attendance Roster.”
• Providing information pertaining to pre-release connections of community providers and employers for inmate release planning services to facility release officers.
• Assisting the Pre-Release Employment Navigators with hiring events, mock interviews, pre-release job search, recruitment, and readiness portfolio development through face-to-face and technology-based interactions.
