Job summary

The Southern California Tribal Chairmen's Association (SCTCA) seeks a Career Development Specialist to support Native American families in the Pala TANF program. This in-person role focuses on career planning, job placement, and ongoing coaching to help participants overcome barriers and achieve sustainable employment.

Based in Pala, CA, this full-time position requires collaboration with local employers and community partners, and adherence to TANF guidelines. Remote work is not offered.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or higher with three years in Career Development (preferred).
• Associates degree plus two years in Career Development acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual career guidance based on interests, aptitudes, and personality.
• Develop job leads by contacting employers and using job postings and online searches.
• Coordinate with TANF partners to help participants gain employment and training.
• Assist with resume/cover letters, interview practice, and career planning.
