Job summary

Equus Workforce Solutions seeks a dedicated Career Advisor to counsel customers on job search strategies, provide personal career advisement and identify barriers to employment. You will monitor participation, document case notes, and coordinate with the team to ensure timely progress.

Responsibilities include conducting job readiness workshops, maintaining records, and developing training plans. Bilingual Spanish is preferred in this role, and travel may be required for outreach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, marketing, business, human resources or related fields with two plus years relevant work experience
• Experience working with career counseling consumers in a high volume work environment, particularly in a human services or workforce development or an equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Counsels and assists customers regarding job search strategies, personal career advisement and training issues
• Advises, monitors, and tracks participation for customers to maximize program functions and opportunities
• Manages day-to-day relationship with customers and documents findings with case notes
• Maintains knowledge of occupations/career paths for effective placement
• Provides motivational support during the job search process
• Identifies training needs and ensures appropriate training
• Facilitates job readiness/search workshops
• Documents customer success stories internally and externally
• Analyzes and critiques resumes/required documentation for customer eligibility
• Maintains accurate records and correspondence as required
• Creates and maintains policies and procedures for Career Advisement
• Works with Career Advisor Coordinator to complete tasks and projects
• Produces documents including charts and tables; proofreads and edits correspondence
