Job summary

NC State University’s Career Development Center is seeking a Career Counselor to support undergraduates and graduates across CHASS and Exploratory Studies. You will provide individual and group counseling, deliver workshops, and help students access college-wide career resources.

The role also involves coordinating the annual CHASS Career Fair, building faculty partnerships, and mentoring graduate students who assist in center operations. A Master’s degree and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required by the date of hire.
• Ability to collaborate with students, faculty, administrators, and employer partners.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated organizational and time-management abilities.
• Experience in career services or student development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group career counseling to undergraduate and graduate CHASS and Exploratory Studies students.
• Offer in-person and drop-in counseling to campus populations as needed.
• Facilitate workshops on resumes, interviews, networking, and career planning.
• Guide students in using university recruiting tools like ePACK.
• Develop partnerships with CHASS faculty and departments to embed career education.
• Plan and execute the annual College career fair and related events.
