Job summary

Open Sky Community Services seeks a dedicated Career Counselor to support adults with disabilities in achieving their employment goals through a comprehensive, person-centered approach. You will align with the Competitive Integrated Employment Services model and coordinate with partners to maximize outcomes.

Responsibilities include facilitating job readiness, resume building, and interview prep, while navigating benefits like SSI/SSDI and collaborating with funders.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Willing to become a Certified Employment Specialist upon hire.
• Bicultural/Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with MassAbility and Department of Transitional Assistance to determine individuals' employment and/or educational goals.
• Determine individuals’ vocational readiness through the development of relevant skills including completion of job applications, resume writing and interview preparation.
• Operate as a representative of Open Sky in meetings with funders related to work responsibilities and support for individuals served.
• Assist individuals in accessing and obtaining information about their benefits such as SSI, SSDI and others.
• Help individuals understand how benefits may affect their employment.
