Job summary

Open Sky Community Services Inc. is seeking a Career Counselor to support individuals in achieving competitive integrated employment goals.

You will help with job applications, resumes, and interview prep, while collaborating with MassAbility and the Department of Transitional Assistance to align employment and educational objectives. The role emphasizes serving adults with disabilities, providing guidance on benefits (SSI/SSDI), and implies a pathway to become a Certified Employment Specialist

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, required.
• Valid Driver’s License, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation, required.
• Minimum of two years' experience working with individuals with disabilities (including behavioral health challenges).
• Must be willing to become a Certified Employment Specialist upon hire. Open Sky provides and pays for this certification!

Responsibilities

Job Description: Open Sky Career Services is a wrap-around service model which provides active participation in high level collaboration, coordination and communication with all partners that serve individuals receiving supports through Competitive Integrated Employment Services (CIES). Our goal is to ensure that all resources are leveraged so that all adults with disabilities can maximize their economic self-sufficiency through creating and reaching their employment objectives. Career Counselors follow the guidelines and components of the Competitive Integrated Employment Services model to support individuals in stabilizing their employment and reach successful employment outcomes. They also assist individuals with integrated employment opportunities specific to individuals in their Career Plan based on their interests, skills, abilities, and needs.

Other Key Responsibilities:
