Job summary

Workforce Services in Utah seeks an Employment Counselor I for the DWS Employment Center in Moab or Blanding. You will help diverse job seekers set career and education goals, identify barriers, and support self-sufficiency.

Through formal training you will learn assessments, work-ready evaluations, and referrals to community partners, ensuring progress is documented and compliant with program rules.

Qualifications

• Experience applying motivational interviewing techniques during assessments.
• Ability to interpret and apply program policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidential information in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Provide career, occupational and educational counseling to empower customers.
• Assess needs, identify barriers and connect clients with resources.
• Conduct interviews and assessments to support goal planning.
• Develop employment plans and monitor progress toward goals.
• Support customers with job search, resume building and interview prep.
• Ensure program compliance and proper use of public resources.
