Within the Carson College of Business , as a member of the Student Engagement & Career Development team, the Career Consultant prepares undergraduate business students for successful careers through individualized and group advising. This role helps students explore career options, develop effective job and internship search strategies, and build the professional skills needed to navigate today's workforce. The position supports students at all stages of career development, with a focus on upper-division and industry-specific preparation.
The Career Consultant designs and delivers innovative, business-focused programming that reinforces and extends required career course content, providing intentional scaffolding across the student experience. This work helps students apply and refine classroom concepts through skill-building, employer engagement, and experiential learning. By integrating employers and alumni into programming, the role strengthens students' understanding of industry expectations, expands professional networks, and connects coursework to career goals. The Career Consultant collaborates closely with employer relations managers to stay informed about hiring trends, industry needs, and labor market developments, ensuring career advising, employer engagement and programming remain aligned with workforce demand and employment opportunities.
Additionally, the Career Consultant leads and contributes to initiatives that enhance career readiness, supports recruitment and onboarding efforts, and collabrates across the College to advance student success. This position is ideal for a professional committed to student development, industry engagement, and creating meaningful learning experiences that prepare students post-graduation success.
This is a full-time (100 % FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary:
$4,600 - $5,500 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 , the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
