Metropolitan Ministries is hiring an Employment/Vocational Training Coordinator in Tampa to support clients pursuing credentials and job training. You will assess education readiness, mentor clients, and help them access FAFSA and local programs.

The role requires a BA in Human Services or similar and a background in education or advocacy. The position emphasizes collaboration with staff, provides education/workshops, and requires strong communication and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Requires heart for ministry and understanding of poverty.
• Must work within a multi-disciplinary team; strong listening, oral and written skills.
• Experience in tutoring, advising, mentoring or non-traditional education is preferred.
• Familiar with local post-secondary education and FAFSA/FERPA processes.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments of client education, work experience, skills, and career interests.
• Meets regularly with clients to mentor, tutor, and monitor progress.
• Researches education programs that fit client goals.
• Assists clients with FAFSA and completing local training facility applications.
• Plans and delivers education/employment workshops in the community.
• Provides transportation to activities and coordinates tutoring when needed.
• Collaborates with accounting for tuition and supplies purchases.
• Advocates for client education plans with staff.
• Supports adult education KPIs and participates in team tasks.
