Job summary

The Arc Prince George’s County is seeking a Skills Trainer to supervise and assist individuals with disabilities in developing employment and social skills. The role involves on-site training, documenting progress, and coordinating with families and employers to secure meaningful work opportunities.

The position runs Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm in Upper Marlboro, MD, with travel to community job sites.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with one year of relevant experience OR high school diploma with three years of relevant experience.
Experience in a vocational or employment setting preferred.
Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Coach and support students in developing workplace, communication, and social skills.
Provide individualized on-site job training and ongoing employment support.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
Collaborate with families, employers, educators, and service providers to support successful employment outcomes.
Build positive relationships with students, supervisors, and community employers.
Help students overcome workplace challenges and develop strategies for success.
Assist with the transition from Project SEARCH to ongoing employment services.
Travel to community job sites to provide coaching and support.
Complete required training, reports, and other assigned responsibilities in a timely manner.
