Job summary

The Fedcap Group is hiring a Career Advisor for Fedcap Families in Bangor, Maine. You will support a caseload of participants facing barriers to employment, guiding them from referral to job placement and ongoing self-sufficiency.

You will build career plans, connect participants to services, develop resumes and employment materials, and maintain thorough documentation while collaborating with a cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred OR high school diploma/GED plus equivalent experience.
• Minimum of one year of experience in career services, case management, workforce development, or social services OR related field.
• High level of cultural sensitivity, trauma-informed approaches, and equity in workforce development.
• Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other technology to manage caseload.
• Valid US Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Managing a caseload of participants, orienting them to the program and developing Career Plans.
• Building trusting relationships and providing individualized services.
• Identifying needed support services and making referrals.
• Developing quality resumes, cover letters, and other employment materials.
• Providing outstanding service with a non-judgmental approach and unconditional positive regard.
• Completing administrative tasks, scheduling appointments, and documenting interactions.
