Job summary

Fedcap Families, a program of The Fedcap Group, is seeking a Career Advisor to support Maine program participants on their path to employment and economic self-sufficiency. You will mentor, liaison and troubleshoot while guiding participants from referral to job placement.

You will develop Career Plans, build relationships, and connect clients with needed services, crafting resumes and employment materials, and maintaining timely administrative records.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in career services, case management, workforce development, or social services, or in related fields such as education, healthcare administration, retail or hospitality management, or human resources.
• High level of cultural sensitivity and understanding of equity in workforce development and employment services.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams) and other technology systems to manage caseload and performance needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of program participants, orient them to the program and jointly develop Career Plans with concrete action steps to increase employability.
• Build trusting relationships and provide individualized services tailored to participants' preferences and engagement styles.
• Identify needed support services (childcare, transportation, job training, educational services) and coordinate referrals with internal/external partners.
• Create resumes, cover letters, and other employment materials to aid job seekers.
• Provide high-quality service with a non-judgmental approach and document all participant interactions in a timely manner.
