Job summary

Central City Concern is hiring an Employment Specialist I to support individuals facing homelessness and related challenges in pursuing meaningful work. You will guide clients through career planning, job search, and skill-building while coordinating with housing and health services.

Responsibilities include creating employment plans, resume coaching, and tracking progress in case management systems. This role emphasizes recovery‑oriented, client‑centered support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year of experience in workforce development, social services, job placement, job coaching, employment and training, or related field.
• Must embrace the mission and philosophy of recovery and client centered treatment.
• Must be able to work weekends and/or evenings, as necessary.
• Knowledge of area employers, housing resources, training providers, human service agencies and community groups.
• Must be able to perform intra-city travel.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide employment services aligned with CCC and contractually required program standards, including developing a case plan with employment goals.
• Maintain high-quality documentation within CCC’s Apricot Case Management system and funder requirements.
• Monitor services, financial supports, and employment status to ensure progress.
• Assist clients with career maps, resume and interview preparation.
• Coordinate with housing teams and community partners for integrated support.
