Job summary

ARC Voyagers in Columbus, OH is seeking a Career Coach to provide individualized employment support, career counseling, and job coaching for individuals with disabilities. You will help clients identify goals, prepare resumes, and connect with local employers to create meaningful job opportunities.

You’ll work 8am–4pm, Monday–Friday, in a full-time role that emphasizes inclusive employment, community partnerships, and ongoing professional growth. Our benefits are extensive and supportive.

Qualifications

  • 21+ with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift, bend, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • People-focused communicator who can coach and build relationships.
  • Problem-solver and self-starter with independent work habits.
  • Strong organizational skills with documentation and deadlines.
  • Comfortable with technology including MS Office, Teams, Word, and Excel.
  • Positive, dependable, and passionate about helping others succeed.
  • Coaching and training skills for diverse learners.
  • Community-minded with ability to connect with employers and partners.
  • Experience providing employment services to individuals with disabilities is a plus.

Location: 2780 Airport Dr. Suite 450 Columbus, OH 43219

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm

Hourly Range: $18.00-$21.00 per hour based on experience

As a Career Coach with case management responsibilities, you’ll provide individualized employment support, career counseling, and job coaching to help individuals with disabilities explore opportunities, obtain employment, and succeed in the workplace. Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

  • Champion career goals by helping individuals identify their strengths, interests, skills, and employment goals.
  • Provide career counseling and guidance to help individuals explore career options and make informed decisions about their employment future.
  • Support job seekers with job searches, applications, resume development, interview preparation, and workplace soft skills.
  • Assess employment strengths by completing assessments and identifying opportunities that align with each individual’s abilities, interests, and goals.
  • Coach for workplace success by providing individualized, onsite job coaching and task analysis to help individuals learn job responsibilities and maintain employment.
  • Build employer partnerships by developing relationships with local businesses through outreach, networking, hiring events, and in-person meetings.
  • Promote inclusive employment by educating employers about the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities and helping identify opportunities for successful employment.
  • Stay connected to the local job market by understanding current hiring trends, employer needs, and employment opportunities in the community.
  • Support workplace accommodations by identifying accommodations and adaptive equipment that can help individuals succeed on the job.
  • Make a lasting impact by helping individuals build confidence, achieve their employment goals, and experience greater independence and inclusion in their communities.

Requirements:
  • Must submit to BCII/FBI background checks and Nurse Aide & Abuser Registry checks.
  • Must maintain American Red Cross or equivalent First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid State of Ohio driver's license and ability to meet ARC Voyagers' insurability standards.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must complete required DODD training upon hire.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) credential or obtain the credential within 12 months of hire, as assigned.
  • Must obtain Working Incentive Planning certification within the first six months of employment, as assigned.
  • Physical exam may be required based on job assignment.
