Job summary

Community Teamwork in Lowell, MA is seeking a Career Coach to provide job search and readiness coaching, referrals for job training, and support aimed at helping individuals earn a living wage. You will work closely with the Senior Financial Education staff to remove barriers to employment.

The role includes case management, setting employment goals, connecting clients with resources, tracking progress, and partnering with local agencies to deliver wrap-around services.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of experience in career coaching, workforce development, employment services, case management, or a related field.
  • Experience working with low-income, unemployed, underemployed, or otherwise underserved populations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community resources available to low-income households.
  • Skills in resume development, job searching, interview preparation, networking, and career planning.
  • Knowledge and experience working with low income, culturally diverse, and at-risk individuals.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Strong ability to problem-solve and use crisis management skills.
  • Public speaking and outreach.
  • Ability to travel to work sites
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must be able to pass CORI and Federal background check

Responsibilities

  • Create individual employment goals
  • Work to reduce employment barriers by providing resources, support and referrals
  • Provide internal and external wrap around services to clients throughout job placement
  • Perform intake and data collection as per all funding source requirements
  • Maintain accurate participant records and prepare reports as required
  • Assist in the development of partnerships with local agencies and other community resources
  • Work with team members on planning and implementation of career development workshops and events throughout the year
  • Work closely with Senior Financial Education staff to ensure clients attain financial stability and achieve financial goals

Position Summary

The Career Coach will be responsible for providing job search, job readiness skills and referrals for job training with a goal of helping individuals attain a living wage.
