Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Commerce is seeking a Career Center Manager to lead center operations and meet stated goals in Caldwell County, NC.

You will supervise a diverse team of 2-4 DWS employees in Lenoir and direct employment services, job training and limited unemployment insurance services using the Integrated Services Delivery model. Collaboration with workforce partners and employers is essential, with travel possible as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years relevant experience, or Associate degree with 6 years.
• Experience in public or private employment services including supervisory duties.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage Center operations and day-to-day responsibilities.
• Supervise a staff of 2-4 DWS employees in Lenoir, NC.
• Use ISD model to plan and direct employment services, job training, limited unemployment insurance services, and labor market information services.
• Collaborate with workforce partners, workforce development board, economic development entities, public officials, and employers to ensure services are delivered effectively.
• Travel as requested based on business needs.
