Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking an Operations Manager to lead a team of administrative staff supporting Care Management and Social Work. You will drive timely, accurate, and compliant workflows that enable safe transitions of care to sub-acute providers, handle pre-authorization requests, and ensure comprehensive transfer documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of people management or supervisory experience.
• Experience with post-acute care settings, payer authorization processes, and discharge planning workflows.
• Effective communication with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and coach Care Management Assistants, including scheduling and performance management.
• Establish SOPs, SLAs, and quality checks for referral, authorization, and handoff documentation.
• Coordinate with Care Managers/Social Workers on high-impact patients and complex discharges.
• Develop onboarding and competency validation for CMAs (EMR workflows, payer processes, privacy requirements).
• Oversee end-to-end administrative process for sub-acute referrals and submission to facilities.
• Track pre-authorization requests, follow up on delays, and document payer communications.
• Maintain dashboards and real-time updates for the care team (authorization status, bed offers, barriers).
• Identify recurring delays and drive process improvements.
