Job summary

Lassen House in Red Bluff, CA is seeking a compassionate Care Partner to assist elders with daily living activities, monitor health, provide emotional support, help with meals, and lead residents in social activities within a warm team environment.

You will communicate with residents and families, maintain safety and cleanliness, and contribute to a vibrant, respectful senior-living community. Wage ranges from $17 to $18 per hour, with part-time and full-time opportunities listed.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
• Good verbal communication and ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers who only speak English.
• Licensing documentation (if required by your state) and be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care: assist elders with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Observe, document, and report changes in health or behavior to the Wellness Team.
• Offer emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Assist with meals and possibly feed elders who require support.
• Engage residents in social and recreational activities and life-enrichment.
• Communicate with elders, families, team members, and guests; assist with light housekeeping.

What You'll do

As a Care Partner, you can expect a range of responsibilities and tasks. Here are some general expectations:

• You will provide personal care: assist elders with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility, possibly with walkers and wheelchairs.
• You will provide health monitoring and documentation: observe, document, and report changes in the elder's health or behavior to the Wellness Team.
• You will give emotional support: may support elders dealing with loneliness, anxiety, or other emotional challenges. Engaging in conversation, active listening, and offering companionship is part of your role.
• You will assist with Meals: help elders with meals and possibly feed elders who require additional support.
• You will engage in social and recreational activities: supporting elders in life-enriching activities for their well-being.
• You will connect: Communicate with elders, their families, other team members, and guests.
• You will keep things clean: may involve light housekeeping, such as tidying up and ensuring general cleanliness.
