Role Details

Care Manager - Behavioral Health

Location: Remote (California residents only)

Start Date: July 7, 2025

Contract Duration: Until December 31, 2025 (extension possible)

About the Role

Magellan Health is seeking Care Managers to support California behavioral health programs. Responsibilities include overseeing inpatient and outpatient mental health and substance abuse care, crisis intervention, concurrent reviews, discharge planning, provider collaboration, and patient advocacy.

Qualifications

• Active California Licensure (LPCC, LCSW, LMFT, LMSW, CEAP, RN, or Compact Licensure)
• Behavioral health experience (any level)
• Tech-savvy with basic computer skills
• Preferred: Crisis management, psychiatric or utilization management experience

Work Schedule

• Monday–Friday, starting at 8:00 or 8:30 AM and ending at 4:40 or 5:00 PM
• Virtual interviews (1–2 rounds, may require screen sharing)

Education Requirements

• Associate’s (Nursing), Bachelor’s (Social Work), or Master’s (Social Work) depending on certification
