DOCS Dermatology Group is seeking a Care Management Coordinator to support pathology and prior authorization processes, ensuring effective treatment, monitoring, and clear communication for a positive patient experience.

You will monitor schedules, manage data logs, coordinate with clinical teams and drug suppliers, and drive efficiencies across multiple offices while upholding compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of prior pathology or lab experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
  • Highly organized and systematic with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor surgery schedule for current day and 1-2 days in advance.
  • Check phone messages and follow up with patients or coordinate with clinical team.
  • Monitor pathology reports including external labs and take appropriate next steps.
  • Review pending plan completion log for undefined workflow.
  • Serve as the “owner” for the results log and update data entries timely and compliantly.
  • Manage the biologic Excel log and update as changes occur.
  • Communicate with drug companies in coordination with prior authorization efforts.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies, standardization, and training with Regional Operations Director for implementation.
  • Serve as a resource for clinical and prior authorization team members by updating forms and ensuring documentation for prior authorizations and pathology.

Summary

The Care Management Coordinator serves as a cross functional team member providing pathology and prior authorization support to ensure effective treatment, monitoring, and communication resulting in a positive patient experience.

Job Responsibilities
  • Monitor surgery schedule for current day and 1-2 days in advance.
  • Check phone messages and follow up with patients or coordinate communication with clinical team.
  • Monitor the status of pathology reports including reports from outside labs and take appropriate action for next steps including physician review.
  • Review pending plan completion log for undefined workflow.
  • Serve as the “owner” for the results log. Update and manage the worksheet to ensure all data entries are timely and compliant. Monitor results logs and provide monthly reporting.
  • Serve as the “owner” for the biologic Excel log, monitoring and updating as changes occur.
  • Responsible for communication with drug companies in coordination with prior authorization efforts.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies, standardization, and training and collaborate with Regional Operations Director for implementation.
  • Act as a resource for clinical and prior authorization team members by performing various tasks. Tasks include but are not limited to updating forms, verifying appropriate documentation for prior authorizations and pathology, ensuring that pathology notification deadlines are met, and assisting in provider communication for multiple offices.
  • Liaison for patient communication.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of prior pathology or lab experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
  • Highly organized and systematic, excellent attention to detail and ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Self-motivated to achieve the highest patient care and customer service standards.
Physical Demands
  • Employees may be regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard while performing the duties of this job.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
