Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Case Management Assistant to support workflow, communications, and information tracking within the Case Management department. This onsite role collaborates with patients, families, staff, community agencies, and payers to optimize care management and efficiency.

The position requires a high school diploma, 2–3 years of related experience, and preferred healthcare/business coursework.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of secretarial or administrative assistant experience preferred.
• Prior hospital or related setting preferred.
• Advanced education beyond high school preferred in business or healthcare related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organization of workflow, communications, and critical information tracking.
• Support the Case Management department to optimize care management and efficiency.
• Interact with Patients/Families, Hospital staff, Medical Staff, Community agencies, and payers in a professional manner.
• Coordinate with third party payers to obtain authorization for appropriate treatment.
