Job summary

Care South is seeking a kitchen assistant in the UK to help prepare nutritious meals, snacks and drinks for residents. You will work with the kitchen team to meet dietary needs and maintain high cleanliness standards in both kitchen and dining areas.

The role supports residents during mealtimes, emphasising a caring, respectful attitude, strong teamwork and clear communication within a busy care-home setting. Training and ongoing support are provided.

Qualifications

• Happy and confident working in a busy kitchen environment.
• Experience in care or catering is helpful but not essential.
• Able to support residents during mealtimes.
• Caring and respectful attitude towards residents.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef and kitchen team with basic preparation of fresh and nutritious meals, snacks and drinks for residents, ensuring dietary needs are met.
• Follow all food safety and health & safety regulations.
• Support residents to enjoy their dining experience with every meal.
• Ensure kitchen and dining areas are kept clean and hygienic.
• Wash cooking appliances and crockery – sanitise all food preparation areas.
