Job summary

St Philips Care Group seeks a reliable cook to join a busy kitchen at a care centre. You will prepare nutritious meals, serve beverages, and maintain high hygiene while working within budgets set by the home manager.

Applicants with care or hospital kitchen experience are welcome; NVQ Level 2 in Catering and a basic food hygiene certificate are preferred. Full induction, shadow shifts, and progression opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Catering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of textured and modified diets.
• Experience in a care, hospital or commercial kitchen is advantageous but training is provided.
• Good verbal and written skills.
• Ability to relate to residents in a kind and courteous manner.

Responsibilities

• To prepare and serve meals and beverages as required.
• To work in accordance with the home’s policies.
• To carry out kitchen duties ensuring a high standard of hygiene at all times.
• To use resources effectively and order food.
• Report issues to the Care Centre Manager regarding catering.
• Attend mandatory and in-house training as required.
• Understand COSHH.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene records as required.
