Job summary

Genesis HealthCare, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform minor repairs and routine upkeep at our facility in Agawam. You will handle repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs and related equipment, and assist with HVAC filtration.

Responsibilities include lifting supplies, maintaining electrical gear, and stepping in for supervisor when absent. A high school diploma and practical knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry are required.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence
