Job summary

Genesis in Agawam, Massachusetts is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep the nursing center and its grounds clean, safe, and orderly. You will perform routine upkeep, make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls and electrical equipment, and assist with HVAC systems and safety tasks to ensure a pleasing environment for patients and residents.

A high school diploma or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing, and carpentry are required.

• Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, and electrical equipment.
• Change filters on HVAC equipment.
• Carry, lift and stock supplies.
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in the absence.
