Job summary

Kettering Health is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator/Nursing Assistant (HUC NA) to join our hospital team. The role blends unit coordination with direct patient care to support licensed nurses and ensure smooth patient flow.

Responsibilities include assisting patients with daily living activities, coordinating unit tasks with leadership, and maintaining accurate patient records in the EMR. CPR/BLS certification and KH-specific trainings are required or completed on hire.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of KH Health Coordinator training upon hire into role.
• Successful completion of KH Nursing Assistant Orientation upon hire into role.
• Certification in CPR/BLS.
• Must have one of the following: Six months experience as a nursing assistant in a hospital or a long-term care facility.
• Completion of Nursing Assistant course in the last six months.
• Nursing student or listed as pre-nursing as shown on transcripts.
• Current employee with Kettering Health.

Responsibilities

• The Health Unit Coordinator/Nursing Assistant (HUC NA) has a dual focus, a combination of the Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) and Nursing Assistant (NA) roles.
• They serve as a member of the interdisciplinary patient care team.
• The HUC NA supports patients with activities of daily living and performs patient care skills as delegated by the licensed nurse.
• The HUC NA collaborates with unit leadership in coordinating day-to-day activities of the patient care unit.
• The HUC NA serves as a resource for physicians and other members of the health care team for the electronic medical record.
• The HUC NA is responsible for maintaining knowledge and skills of delegated tasks and supports department operational needs.
