CenterPlace Health in North Port, FL seeks a Referral Coordinator to manage referrals, external scans, and x-rays. You will verify medical necessity, obtain prior authorization, and prioritize urgent referrals to close the loop promptly.

Responsibilities include reviewing referrals in the EHR, contacting providers and insurers, sending documents to specialists, recording authorization numbers, and updating clinicians. Strong communication and accurate documentation are essential.

Formación

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Some knowledge/experience with third-party vendors for referrals (Availity, Medicare/Medicaid websites).
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with physicians, patients, and staff.
• Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR).
• Basic typing skills; operating office equipment safely.

Responsabilidades

• Review referrals completed by providers in the EHR and verify accuracy.
• Contact insurance companies to verify patient coverage and obtain authorizations.
• Send or fax referrals and patient notes to the appropriate specialty or radiology center.
• Coordinate referral documentation and obtain required authorization from insurers.
• Communicate with providers and insurers to resolve urgent referral issues.
• Note authorization numbers in the patient medical record and update the EHR.
• Guide patients to referral locations and assist with logistics as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and complete required trainings and meetings.
