Keck Medicine of USC invites a Referral Services Specialist to join the interdisciplinary care team within USC Care Ambulatory Services. You will coordinate between patients, families, and referring physicians to develop interdisciplinary plans and ensure cost-effective, high-quality outcomes.

You will transcribe referrals, manage admissions, and collaborate with clinical and financial staff to guide new patient consultations and services while maintaining timely documentation and compliance

Formación

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of healthcare experience; if none, a bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, health administration, or related field can substitute for experience.
• Strong organization/time-management skills.
• Excellent customer service behavior.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use computer systems or equipment essential for the related areas.

Responsabilidades

• Review all incoming referrals daily to initiate and maintain positive relationships with patients and referring physicians.
• Transcribe all incoming referrals into Ambulatory Referral Management.
• Determine desired means and frequency of communication with patients (emails, mailed communications, phone calls).
• Daily review of referrals worklist within Ambulatory Referral Management.
• Adhere to USC policies, procedures, and standards.
• Attend mandatory departmental staff meetings.
• Provide literature as requested and follow up regarding literature provided.
• Provide pertinent feedback from patients and physicians to Marketing Department.
• Provide clinical information regarding Protocol as requester.
• Collaborate with USC Care clinical staff regarding new patient consultations.
• Collaborate with financial counselors regarding new patient referral financial issues.
• Collaborate with clinical staff regarding new patient consultations.
• Collaborate with Medical Records to ensure timely processing of consultations.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of departmental database to track and trend new patient calls for administrative and marketing purposes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
