Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in a field related to Human Services; two years full-time mental health/addictions experience preferred.
  • Computer experience/knowledge preferred.
  • Staff training program participation is required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison and advocate between CF BHN, Florida Center’s Admission Department, Primary Counselors, Probation, Referrals, and Aftercare Counselors.
  • Attend Morning Report Monday through Friday and participate in 30-day reviews.
  • Assist individuals and families through the application process to treatment programs.
  • Coordinate sharing of protected information with providers/referrals to meet needs.
  • Target resources and interventions to assist applicants and those seeking recovery.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to track progress and provide guidance and encouragement.

Position Description:

Individuals in this position perform a variety of support services assignments, and other tasks consistent with the needs of the agency. Strong typing skills, good organization skills, and the ability to work with minimum supervision are prerequisites of this position.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Serve to work as a liaison and advocate between Central Florida Behavioral Health Network, Florida Center’s Admission Department, Primary Counselors, Probation, Referrals, and Aftercare Counselors.

  • Attend Morning Report Monday thru Fridays, weekly 30-day reviews, and persons served stuffings.

  • Collaborates efforts to assist individuals and\/or their support system through the application process to a treatment program.

  • Effectively develops a mechanism to enable protected information to be shared with providers\/referrals\/involved individuals to address and meet the identified needs of the individual seeking assistance.

  • Efficiently targets treatment resources and interim or alternative interventions that will assist applicants or individual seeking Recovery.

  • Engages those individual seeking Recovery to maintain verbal contact during the interim of the targeted resources. The verbal contact is to occur minimally once a week and it to access if the individual seeking assistance is following through on the suggested interventions and\/or resources. Employee’s role is to provide positive regard, guidance, and encouragement.

  • Responsible for ongoing correspondence with Central Florida Behavioral Network (CFBHN)) through their computer system and software program. Creation and maintenance of Waitlist Report. Registration and

  • Coordination of Care Case Manager

  • Discharge data entry into CFBHN computer system, as well as ongoing weekly review of status of person serve who have been deemed “High Need High Utilizer.” Also works with CFBHN to facilitate treatment referrals for those denied admission to the Florida Center.

  • Organization and documentation of each individual's case information including updating case files and providing relevant case status information in and updates.

  • Performs other reasonable and related duties as assigned.


Minimum Training and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in field related to Human Services from an accredited college or university, which include but not limited to: Social Work; Clinical Psychology; Counseling; Rehabilitative Counseling; Counseling Education; Education; Criminal Justice; Ministry and at least two (2) years full-time experience in mental health or addictions treatment setting or certification as an Addictions Professional (CAP, CAAP, CAPP) by the Certification Board for Addiction Professionals of Florida preferred. The alternative requirement is at least two (2) year's experience in addictions and (2) years working in a Substance Abuse / Mental Health of Dual Dx Treatment Program.

  • Computer experience\/knowledge preferred.

  • Requires participation in a staff training program.
