Job summary

Alliance Home Health is seeking an Authorization Specialist to manage patient care approvals and payer communications. You will submit authorization requests through paper forms, portals, or fax, and track follow-ups to ensure timely approvals.

In this full-time, on-site role, you will collaborate with clinical teams, billing, patients and physicians, maintain tracking reports, verify insurance eligibility, and help resolve denials while protecting sensitive information.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with authorization requests.
• Experience in a medical office setting or equivalent.
• Strong ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse staff.

Responsibilities

• Obtain authorization for patient care (initial, reauthorization, follow-up).
• Verify insurance eligibility; contact patients/departments with outcomes.
• Assist billing with claims issues due to insurance authorization denials.
• Collaborate with clinical teams and referral sources on authorization needs.
• Maintain progress/tracking reports on outstanding authorizations; ensure timely processing.
• Collect, review, and document demographic, insurance, and financial information.
