Job summary

Alliance Home Health is seeking an Authorization Specialist to manage timely patient care authorizations with payers, providers, and patients. You'll work in a clinical office setting, supporting billing and clinical teams to ensure smooth approval and reimbursement processes.

The role requires experience with authorization requests, strong communication, confidentiality, and solid documentation skills. This is an in-person position with standard business hours and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience with authorization requests in a medical setting.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient care authorizations (initial, reauthorization, follow-up).
• Verify insurance eligibility and contact patients/departments as needed.
• Assist billing with issues due to insurance authorization denials.
• Collaborate with clinical teams and referral sources on authorization needs.
• Maintain tracking reports for outstanding authorizations and timely processing.
• Collect and document patient and payer demographics and financial information.
• Follow guidelines for patient and payer interactions and negotiate reimbursements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
