Job summary

CardVault by Tom Brady is seeking a Store Manager in the Chicago area to oversee daily operations, drive sales, and ensure exceptional customer service. You will lead a team, coach staff, and manage inventory, merchandising, and guest experiences while upholding company standards across the store.

You will be responsible for directing operations, maintaining safety and facilities, and fostering relationships with customers and management to achieve growth.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sports and trading cards.
• Minimum of two years store manager experience in a similar environment.
• High school Diploma/GED desired; college degree preferred.
• Ability to lead and be part of a successful store team.

Responsibilities

• Direct store operations.
• Authenticate collectible trading cards by condition.
• Coach and motivate team to drive sales and customer service.
• Ensure high customer satisfaction with product knowledge.
• Deliver sales, customer experience, merchandising, visual and operational standards.
• Act as a liaison between customers, sales staff and leadership.
• Learn and share product knowledge and trends with the team.
• Maintain product knowledge and awareness of trends.
• Maintain patron relationships and engage preferred patrons.
• Recruit, select, train, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline staff.
• Maintain safe, compliant facility with sanitation standards and procedures.
• Delegate authority and manage subordinates.
• Set standards for personnel administration and performance.
• Address patron complaints and resolve issues.
• Maintain licenses and permits.
• Handle cash and perform opening/closing duties.
• Ensure security of merchandise and minimize shrinkage.
• Coordinate inventory with Inventory and Logistics leadership.
• Other duties as assigned.

Brief Description

As a Store Manager, a typical day might include the following:

• Directing all store operations
• Researching, identifying and authenticating collectible trading cards by assessing the condition and quality of the item using established standards
• Coaching and motivating your team to drive sales that deliver exceptional customer service
• Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction by being knowledgeable on all products offered, and teaming up with co-workers to provide excellent sales service
• Delivering sales, customer experience, merchandising, visual, and operational expectations
• Acting as a partner between customers, sales associates and CardVault leadership
• Learning and sharing expertise of products and trends to fit customer’s needs
• Maintaining an awareness of all product knowledge, and current or upcoming product / trends
• Maintaining patron satisfaction and builds relationships with preferred patrons
• Accomplishing human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orientating, training, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining management and hourly staff; Cleary communicates job expectations; enforces policies and procedures
• Maintaining safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complies with legal regulations
• Delegating authority, assigning responsibilities and effectively managing subordinates
• Establishing standards for personnel administration and performance
• Answering patrons' complaints and resolving problems
• Maintaining all necessary license and permits
• General cash handling, reconciling cash drawers and safes, and performing opening and closing duties to company standard
• Ensuring the security of all merchandise
• Minimizing shrinkage, identifying and reducing loss
• Coordinating with the CardVault Director of Inventory and Logistics regarding inventory management
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• A comprehensive knowledge of sports and/or trading cards
• Minimum of two years store manager experience in a similar environment is required
• High school Diploma/GED desired. College degree preferred
• Ability to lead and be a part of a successful store team
• Excellent organizational, verbal, interpersonal and ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members and management
• Must have the ability to meet or exceed sales, guest service standards
• Must be comfortable working and speaking with the public
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products and retail business systems
• Ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays
• Ability to maneuver around sales floor, stock room, and ability lift/carry up to 30 lbs
• Clear understanding of retail metrics including key performance indicators necessary to drive sales
