Job summary

Atlantic Health is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist to perform comprehensive ultrasound exams, ensuring patient safety and high-quality reporting. The role includes clerical duties, collaboration with physicians and staff, and ongoing professional development.

You will help maintain a clean lab and contribute to performance improvement initiatives. Ideal candidates hold CCI/ARDMS registry, BLS, and CVT PACT certifications with doppler/strain experience.

Qualifications

• Registry through CCI or ARDMS.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Experience as an Echo Sonographer II or equivalent Level 1+ with strain and Doppler, basic 3D, and stress echo skills.
• CVT PACT certification.
• Assist with IAC ASE membership and attendance at echo conferences.

• Complete clerical tasks, record testing information accurately, and report critical results per policy while protecting privacy.
• Communicate with physicians, patients, and staff in a pleasant, informative manner and provide policy improvement suggestions.

• Maintain a clean and orderly work area, prepare labs, and manage opening/closing procedures.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive ultrasound exams following established protocols to verify, plan, set up, perform, and report examinations while ensuring patient identification, education, cooperation, and safety, and assists in quality assurance and performance improvement.
• Completes clerical tasks associated with ultrasound tests, recording all testing information accurately and promptly, and ensuring critical results are reported in accordance with established policy, while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Communicates with physicians, patients, and other center personnel in a pleasant and informative manner, and provides recommendations to supervisors regarding duties, policies, and procedures.
• Enhances teamwork by demonstrating motivation, enthusiasm, accountability, problem‑solving skills, and a willingness to seek assistance and mentor others.
• Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner, cleans patient areas after each use, assists in maintaining a clean lab, notifies supervisor of stocking or equipment needs, and performs lab opening and closing procedures when appropriate.
• Supports continued professional development by identifying learning needs, attending in‑services and departmental meetings, increasing proficiency in testing, and proposing more efficient techniques.
