Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive ultrasound examinations following established protocols; verify patient identity, educate and observe patients to ensure safety and cooperation; assist in quality assurance and performance improvement.
• Complete clerical tasks related to ultrasound tests: record testing information accurately and timely, report critical results promptly, maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Communicate professionally with physicians, patients, and center personnel; maintain a pleasant and informative manner; provide recommendations to the supervisor on duties, policies, and procedures.
• Promote a teamwork environment: demonstrate motivation, enthusiasm, responsibility, and accountability; engage in problem‑solving; seek assistance when needed; mentor and develop others.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area; clean patient areas after each use; assist with lab opening and closing procedures; clean and maintain equipment according to hospital infection control policies and procedures.
• Identify learning needs and respond to department needs; attend in‑services, labs, and departmental meetings; increase proficiency in testing and other lab procedures; suggest new, more efficient or economical techniques, procedures, and processes.

Echo Sonographer II Responsibilities

• Perform strain and pedoff imaging, basic 3D, and stress echocardiography.
• Apply advanced skills of Level 1+ Sonographer.

Vascular Tech II Responsibilities

• Perform venous insufficiency, arterial duplex and/or vein mapping (+/– radials).
• Apply skills of Level 1+ Vascular Technologist.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited CVT school with a focus on echocardiography (CAAHEP accredited preferred).
• Registry through CCI or ARDMS.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication, basic proficiency with computer systems.
• Experience as an Echo Sonographer II or Vascular Tech II.
