Cardiovascular Technologist - Educational Sponsorship

Location: Altru Hospital, 1200 S. Columbia Rd., Grand Forks, ND 58201

Pay Range: $30.65 - $45.98

Summary:

Educational Sponsorship Program: Altru encourages and supports the continuing growth and development of its current and future employees by offering educational financial assistance. The educational sponsorship incentive program is intended to cover all or a portion of the per semester cost of tuition, program and management fees while pursuing a degree required for a qualified future role at Altru.

Program Eligibility:

• Must maintain full-time enrollment at an accredited regional academic partner and complete the program within expected academic guidelines.
• Recipients must provide proof of ongoing full-time enrollment within the degree program and maintain at least a cumulative 2.0 GPA.
• For programs requiring clinical rotations, students must complete the clinical rotation at Altru.
• Current employees must maintain at least casual employment status while enrolled and pursuing a qualified degree.
• If a current employee, must be in good standing at the time of application.

Employment Commitment:

Employee recipients receiving organizational funds through the educational sponsorship program are required to commit to remaining a full-time employee of Altru upon completion of the degree based on the following:

• Education related expenses up to $25,000: two (2) year employment commitment.
• Education related expenses exceeding $25,000: three (3) year employment commitment.

This sponsorship can be used in conjunction with other financial aid. Employees/students currently enrolled in an accredited academic program are eligible to apply for an educational sponsorship for the remainder of the academic degree program.

How to Apply for Educational Sponsorship:

Interested employees/candidates can apply through this posting and proceed through the recruitment selection process. It is necessary to begin this process early as the completed application must be received by Human Resources at least 30 calendar days prior to commencement of the educational program.

Essential Job Functions:

• Correlates the analysis of invasive and non-invasive tests to recognize the need for additional intervention and reports pertinent findings to the Physician.
• Performs hemodynamic and control room duties maintaining a working knowledge of equipment.
• Prepares and performs the Cardiac Cath Lab for procedures according to standard operating procedures.
• Practices radiation safety in order to protect both staff members and the patient.
• Performs and monitors patient's stress tests.
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

Certifications

• ND Medical Imaging License | North Dakota Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board | Within 12 Months of Start Date
• Cardiovascular Technologist - Registered | Cardiovascular Credentialing International | Within 24 Months of Start Date
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) | American Heart Association | Within 90 Days of Start Date

Additional Discipline Requirements:

• Paramedic, Respiratory Therapist, Licensed Practical Nurse, and Surgical Technologist: Must adhere to state licensing guidelines and be eligible to qualify for the RCIS/RCES exam within 24 months of the start date.
