Job Description Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Cath Lab Manager, assists and scrubs on all Cardiac Cath Lab procedures utilizing all standards for quality and patient safety. Demonstrates knowledge and adherence to JCAHO, federal, and state regulations. Actively participates in the routine checks of clinical, electronic, and all other equipment used in the department within the scope of practice. Participates in and encourages teamwork to provide patient-focused care. Embodies the Memorial Health System Performance Excellence Standards of Safety, Courtesy, Quality, and Efficiency that support our mission, vision and values.
Education: Graduate of accredited cardiovascular technician program preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registry: CPR required and ACLS preferred within 12-24 months of hire date.
Experience: 1 year patient care experience required.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Able to assist and scrub, at a proficient level, all procedures related to the department in both acute and stable patients. Ability to manipulate various types of electronic, radiology and clinical equipment within the scope of practice. Calibrate and troubleshoot various types of radiology and computer equipment. Ability to perform department specific skills.
