Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular technology associates degree.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire; ACLS certification within 6 months of hire; RCIS/RCES certification required within 1 year of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiovascular procedures in the Cardiac Cath and EP Lab.
• Ensure optimal procedures and treatment results.
• Develop and implement procedure/treatment plans.
• Maintain neat and safe condition in work areas.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities.
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities to keep patient care aligned with standards.
• Completes assigned goals.

Job description

Assists in cardiovascular procedures in the Cardiac Cath and EP Lab by scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring under the supervision of the performing interventional cardiologist or electrophysiologist. Provides technical support in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular disease.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Cardiac Cath Lab principals/theory and utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments, as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results.
• Develops appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
• Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines and according to current competencies and scope of practice.
• Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Participates in hospital and departmental Performance Improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards.
• Completes assigned goals.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular technology associates degree

Licensure

• BLS CERTIFICATION WITHIN 14 DAYS OF HIRE; ACLS certification or within 6 months of hire; NOTE: Only eligible for position for 18 months as RCIS/RCES certification required within 1 year of eligibility.
