Job summary

Riverview Health in Noblesville, IN is seeking a Cardiovascular Technologist to serve as scrub or monitor in the Cath Lab. The role includes preparing procedural rooms, arranging equipment, and ensuring sterile supplies for EP procedures.

You will assist with scrub and instrument handoffs, operate EP equipment, place 12-lead ECGs, and maintain documentation in EPIC and PACS. On-call rotation may apply, and continued competency is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent experience.
• RCIS certification preferred.
• BLS/ACLS certifications required.
• Experience in Cath Angio Lab/EP settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide scrub assistance during EP procedures and hand instruments to the physician.
• Operate and troubleshoot electrophysiology equipment, including mapping and monitoring systems.
• Accurately perform 12-lead placements and mapping patch placement.
• Prepare, transport, position, and drape patients for procedures.
• Maintain instrument counts and clean procedural areas; archive images in PACS/EPIC.
• Remain current in knowledge and participate in on-call rotations as needed.

Job Summary

The Cardiovascular Technologist serves as the scrub or monitor in the Cath Lab. The CV Tech prepares procedural rooms, arranges equipment, and ensures all essential instrumentation and sterile supplies are prepared for procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide scrub assistance during EP procedures. Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to physician during procedure while maintaining a sterile field.
• Connect, operate and troubleshooting of electrophysiology equipment including but not limited to 3-D mapping systems, stimulation systems, intra-cardiac echocardiography and EP monitoring and recording system.
• Accurately perform 12 lead placements, mapping patches placement.
• Independently pull all supplies and ancillary equipment for procedures.
• Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
• Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor/track instrument counts throughout procedures. Perform routine cleaning of procedural area and equipment.
• Verify and complete all documentation to include EPIC, and other assigned software systems. Correctly archive images in PACS and/or Radiology PACS
• Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of procedures through compliance with applicable policies procedures, protocols, and principles of asepsis.
• Remain current and competent in knowledge and skills necessary to meet the responsibility of the position and take initiative to inquire and explore new procedures and subjects relating to the patient and procedural room environment.
• Precept new and tenured staff and surgical technology students as requested.
• Function as a superuser of selected medical equipment.
• Serve on call for rotating weekend, holiday and weeknights as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

• Minimum: Associates Degree in Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent work experience in cardiology setting
• Preferred: RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)

Experience Requirements

• Preferred: One (1) year Cath Angio Lab-EP work related experience

License/Certification Requirements

Minimum:

• RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) within 24 months
• Basic Life Safety (American Heart Association)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (American Heart Association)
