Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health in Memphis seeks a Cardiovascular Technologist to assist in the Cardiac Cath and EP Lab by scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring under the supervision of the interventional cardiologist or electrophysiologist.

You will provide technical support for diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular disease, develop appropriate procedure plans, implement them per hospital guidelines, document thoroughly, maintain equipment and rooms, and participate in performance-improvement

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular technology associate degree.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire; ACLS within 6 months of hire; RCIS/RCES certification required within 1 year of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Cardiac Cath Lab principals/theory and utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments, as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results.
• Develops appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
• Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines and according to current competencies and scope of practice.
• Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Participates in hospital and departmental Performance Improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards.
• Completes assigned goals.
